چکیده

Abstract The Hartree-Fock equations are widely accepted as the basic model of electronic structure calculation which serves as a canonical starting point for more sophisticated many-particle methods. We have studied the s∗-compressibility for Galerkin discretizations of the Hartree-Fock equations in wavelet bases. Our focus is on the compression of Galerkin matrices from nuclear Coulomb potentials and nonlinear terms in the Fock operator which hitherto has not been discussed in the literature. It can be shown that the s∗-compressibility is in accordance with convergence rates obtained from best N -term approximation for solutions of the Hartree-Fock equations. This is a necessary requirement in order to achieve numerical solutions for these equations with optimal complexity using the recently developed adaptive wavelet algorithms of Cohen, Dahmen and DeVore.

The effect of nuclear compressibility on the shell-model potential

2014 A model interaction is used which is determined by a given nuclear matter saturation curve. This interaction is used in a Hartree-Fock calculation of 40Ca to study the density, the single particle energies and the shell-model potential for various compressibility coefficients derived from the nuclear matter saturation curves. Non-perturbative renormalization group equations and approximate discrete γ5-symmetry in quantum hadrodynamics

The quantum hadrodynamics are studied by using non-perturbative renormalization group equations. Approximate discrete γ5-symmetry is studied. It is shown that the contributions of one-loop diagrams are important for effective potential. A relation between the local-potential approximation and the usual Hartree approximation is discussed. The local-potential approximation includes contribution o...

Density Dependent Exchange Contribution to @ =@n and Compressibility in Graphene

We calculate @ =@n (where chemical potential and n electron density), which is associated with the compressibility, in graphene as a function of n, within the Hartree-Fock approximation. The exchange-driven Dirac-point logarithmic singularity in the quasiparticle velocity of intrinsic graphene disappears in the extrinsic case. The calculated renormalized @ =@n in extrinsic graphene on SiO2 has ...

Coupling to the continuous spectrum and HFB approximation

We propose a new method to solve the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov equations for weakly bound nuclei whose purpose is to improve the treatment of the continuum when a finite range two-body interaction is used. We replace the traditional expansion on a discrete harmonic oscillator basis by a mixed eigenfunction expansion associated with a potential that explicitely includes a continuous spectrum. We o...

Hartree-Fock Interactions in the Integer Quantum Hall Effect

We report on numerical studies into the interplay of disorder and electron-electron interactions within the integer quantum Hall regime, where the presence of a strong magnetic field and two-dimensional confinement of the electronic system profoundly affects thermodynamic and transport properties. We emphasise the behaviour of the electronic compressibility, the local density of states, and the...
